Pilgrimage to Sripadasthana 

Sripadasthana is located in the Sabaragamuwa province, one of the most beautiful provinces in Sri Lanka 😍. Sripadasthana is the second highest mountain in Sri Lanka. The most beautiful place I have visited in Sri Lanka so far is Sripadasthana. 

I have worshipped Siripa four times. We climb this mountain singing "Thun Sarane" poems. It is a tradition that has been handed down from the past. Most of the time we climb the mountain at night. Then we feel tired very little. Before we started the climb, we bathed in the " Seetha Gangula".Its water very cold. Also in the middle of the mountain we came across the "Seetha Gangula".

When we went furthur we came across the "Indikatu Pahana" There for the first time the devotees who worship Siripa , "The Kodukaras", put the thread into the needle and carry the thread as far as possible. Dad told me while climbing the mountain of legends about doing it that way.

Next we came across the "Mahagiridamba". It was a very narrow and difficult road. After walking short distance we heard the sound of a bell. We knew that we were approaching the Siripa courtyard by the occasional ringing of bells from the upstairs.

Hours later we were able to reach the top of Siripa. Then I was tired and lost sleep. The top of the mountain is very cold. I worshipped the "Sacred Foot". Then I went to the bell and rang it.

After while we all looked up at the sky to watch the "Sun rise" but we could not watch the sun rise because it was a rainy day 😔.   

After while we started to descend the mountain. As we descended the mountain we were also caught in air gap. As I descend the mountain I was able to see beautiful views that I had not seen at night. I saw beautiful flowers, birds, waterfalls  etc.. I took photos of the beautiful scenery that caught my eyes there. The surroundings are very beautiful. I love that environment.
